Construction begins in Chicago

Ezee Fiber began construction activities in the Chicagoland suburb of Streamwood this week as crews began directional drilling. A number of Ezee Fiber leaders were on hand for the start of construction, which Greg Thomas, SVP and General Manager, Midwest Region, has started without a hitch.

“We’re very excited to begin work in Chicagoland, which has great potential for Ezee Fiber. The feedback from the community has been very positive and we are developing very good relationships with city authorities. As Chicagoland begins to head into winter weather, we will be working year-around to complete construction work in several municipalities so residents can enjoy our service as soon as possible,” he said.

"Construction in Illinois has started ahead of schedule, which is a direct result of the great cross functional efforts and teamwork exhibited in this market. Specifically, I want to thank my partners in Engineering, Market Selection, Government Affairs and Construction," Thomas continued.

Ezee Fiber’s office in the western suburbs is complete, and furnishings are in place. Hiring activity is underway and several key roles in construction, planning, government affairs and community relations are filled.

Greg said Ezee Fiber has ambitious plans for Chicagoland but he sees plenty of opportunity to grow the business around the well-regarded service that Ezee Fiber delivers.
