Just last year, the city of Albuquerque issued a stop-work order on our operations. For many companies, that would be a setback. For Ezee Fiber, it was a moment of reflection, a reset, and an opportunity to raise the bar on our policies, practices and customer service.
Today, we have a transformed partnership between our company, city leadership and the neighborhoods we serve. As we mark this anniversary, I want to be transparent about what we’ve learned and why our mission to bring world-class internet to Albuquerque is now stronger than ever.
Since resuming work, our mantra has been simple: Construction is inherently disruptive, but it doesn't have to be divisive. We realize that being a provider of high-speed tech didn't excuse us from the high-touch responsibility of being a local utility.
Alongside the Mayor’s Office and City Council, we increased resident communication frequency, added new reporting procedures and increased oversight of contractors in the field so more Ezee Fiber field personnel are observing contractor performance. We are very grateful for our partnership with our local elected officials, without which we would not be able to help close the digital divide for residents in Albuquerque.
In all of this, we have been able to make great progress for (and with) our neighborhoods.
The results speak for themselves:
Albuquerque is a city on the move. A modern, reliable fiber network is the backbone of that growth, enabling remote work, closing the digital divide and fueling our local economy.
We are grateful for the city’s partnership over the past year and even more grateful for the patience and feedback of the residents. We’ve learned that a better-connected future isn't just about the cables we lay underground — it’s about the trust we build above it.
Thank you for your continued feedback and trust, Albuquerque.
